The Skills and Competence Working Group is the focal point for maintaining skills and raising the competence of the sector workforce. This is achieved by driving initiatives, such as the OME Apprenticeship and STEM Futures collaboration. The SCWG has established partnerships with universities and training establishments across the UK to ensure the successful delivery and improvement of the L4, L6 and L7 OME apprenticeships. The SCWG also focuses on the creation of L1 to L7 qualifications, and works with the IExpE on a robust course endorsement process to allow organisations to promote their own training through the IExpE. The chair of the SCWG is a member of the ESSG, to ensure that the sector has a workforce that is suitably skilled and competent.
