Accredited Trainer

Becoming an IExpE Accredited Trainer provides members who deliver training within the explosives industry with formal recognition of their professional capability, industry knowledge and commitment to high standards. Accreditation demonstrates that a trainer has been independently assessed against recognised criteria and is able to deliver effective, consistent and credible training to learners. It also strengthens professional standing, supports continued development and helps organisations identify trainers who meet the expectations of the sector.

IExpE offers members the opportunity to have their training delivery formally assessed and recognised through accreditation at three progressive levels:

IExpE Accredited Trainers play an important role in supporting safe, competent and professional practice across the explosives industry. They are responsible for the delivery and assessment of training courses that are provided by an IExpE Company or Corporate Members, helping to ensure that learners receive training that is accurate, relevant and aligned with recognised industry expectations. Members who currently deliver training, or who are developing into a training role, are encouraged to consider accreditation as a valuable step in evidencing their expertise and enhancing the quality and credibility of the training they provide.

Accreditation is valid for 12 months, subject to continued IExpE membership. To renew, members must nominate referees to confirm training delivered and provide evidence from the previous 12 months. No renewal application fee is payable; the annual accredited trainer subscription will apply once renewal is approved.

“My EOD career has naturally lead me to segway into the training department. This has been through assisting the instructors with practical’s and starting to teach some modules on courses. When the opportunity arose to sign up to the Institute’s Accredited Trainer scheme it allowed me to have some credibility at the start of my teaching career. By being a member of the scheme it shows that I have met the parameters set and that I have knowledge to be able to help train people. It is also a building block for the future with hope of becoming an accredited trainer in the future”
