To make an application to become an IExpE Associate Member requires the submission of the completed application form together with all documents in support. You can monitor the progress of your application via your account on the IExpE website.
The status of Associate Member of IExpE may be granted to individuals, whether in military or civilian occupations, who work with explosives, but have not as yet had the extensive experience required to obtain full Member status.
Prior to submitting an application for Associate membership of IExpE, please ensure you satisfy one the following minimum qualifying criteria:
You are at least 20 years old, been trained and become qualified to hold a responsible post as a skilled operative in such pursuits as explosives development, manufacture or use,
reached a responsible position and gained adequate experience. You may be required attend an interview with members of the IExpE Council.
been trained and become qualified as a serviceman or related civilian whose duties involve the handling and use of military explosives and associated munitions but whose expertise does not yet equate to the standards laid down above for a Member of the Institute,
If approved as an Associate of the Institute of Explosives Engineers (AIExpE), you will be a voting member with the postnominals AIExpE.
When submitting your application please be aware of the Institute’s policy in relation to criminal convictions and insolvency. If you have at the time of entering the Institute, or subsequently acquire, any relevant conviction or become subject to any order of Insolvency you need to declare them.
The Institute has been approved by the Board of the Inland Revenue, under Section 201, Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for members whose Tax affairs are dealt with in the UK to obtain Income Tax Relief on their Subscriptions.
