The Safety Work Group (SWG) actively promotes learning from events and the sharing of best practice across the sector to drive up standards of safety. The SWG provides a forum to discuss events such as near misses and accidents and disseminate learning, in the form of the Past Accident Reviews (PARs). In addition, as an aid to developing new toolkits, techniques and good practice guidance, the SWG runs workshops as a platform for the transfer of knowledge through ESSG endorsed toolbox talks and safety moments. The chair of the SWG is a member of the ESSG, to ensure that safety and learning from events remains the highest priority area for delivery across the sector.
